Making the World go Round [May. 20th, 2006|05:13 pm]
[mood | bouncy]
[music |Rain - HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR]

I think I'm high off of life... And if you saw me last night, then no explanation is needed.

From Russia with love [May. 13th, 2006|08:28 am]
[mood | sad]
[music |Blue Drives Monster - the pillows]

Last night I went to a goodbye party for my friend Ana (pronounced "Anya"), who's an exchange student from Russia. She's going to be going back to her home country soon and I'm going to miss her a lot... (T.T)
On a happier note, I saw Just My Luck with a couple of friends, including Ana. Starring Lindsey Lohan, *gag reflex*, Just My Luck is about an independent girl, who tries too hard to become a woman, with just about all of the luck in the world. Then see meets a guy with just about all of the bad luck in the world and she... kisses him. She-BANG! Their luck gets transferred from girl to boy and boy to girl. Lindsey's suddenly unlucky and boy's suddenly lucky. (I forgot all of the characters' names.) Just My Luck is a cute movie, but it's a typical chick flick. Girl meets guy. Girl falls in love with guy. Girl realizes she can't have guy for various reasons (girl has cancer, guy already has girlfriend, guy's popular and girl's not or vice versa). Girl runs away. Guy chases girl down. Guy and girl kiss. The end.
There's an upcoming movie that I really want to see. It seems like a very good movie, and it stars Sandra Bullock, who's one of my favorite actresses. It's called Lake House and it's a love story, but I wouldn't exactly call it a chick flick.

Drop everything and read... soon (DEARS) [May. 9th, 2006|07:15 pm]
[mood | busy]
[music |Carolina - M-Clan]

My current reading list:
How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin
Six Lessons for Six Sons by Joe Massengale
The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Malcolm X
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Hmm... It might be a good idea to get started today. Looks like I'm going to be busy for a while.

So sleepy... [May. 8th, 2006|05:18 pm]
[mood | sleepy]
[music |Ride on Shooting Star - the pillows]

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows that it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It does not matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle - when the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - M. Greene
Which basically sums up my track practice today.
I'm so tired... *yawns* I've noticed that I've been getting progressively tired as the year moves on. Time seems to be dragging and I'm feeling both mentally and physically exhausted, and all I want to do is sleep. *yawns* I really want to take a nap right now, but that will just mess up my biological clock. XP I can't wait for the weekend so that I can sleep in.

Rich man, poor man [May. 7th, 2006|04:21 pm]
[mood | creative]
[music |Wagamama Koushinkyouku - An Cafe]

I came back from a shopping spree at an anime/gaming shop with a Last Exile goat plush, the current issue of Newtype-USA, a back issue of Newtype, the last volume of the manwha series Demon Diary, and several bottles of imported Japanese bubbly water in tow. I'm now 50 bucks poorer, but a whole lot happier... at least until the euphoria wears off and I start wondering how in the world am going to earn some money now that I'm completely broke. Hmm...

Movies and whatnot [May. 6th, 2006|07:23 pm]
[mood | amused]
[music |Canon in D - JerryC]

Just came back from Chinatown and currently munching on some Pocky and CiCi goodness. I realized that I haven't updated my journal in a while, so I'd thought that I'd just add some blurb.
Anyway, Mission Impossible III just came out in theaters yesterday and The Da Vinci Code supposedly comes out on theaters on the 19th. I'm currently not a big fan of Tom Cruise, but I want to see Mission Impossible III just for the sake of seeing it. I have a sinking feeling that it'll end up more like the second one (lots of romance, horrible characters, boring plot), instead of the original one, which I liked. I really want to see The Da Vinci Code, but I'm afraid that it'll ruin the book. Tom Hanks is a good actor, so if the movie does suck, it won't suck so badly.
BTW, happy birthday Lydia and Caroline! I heart you! *huggles*

Breathless [Apr. 3rd, 2006|04:57 pm]
[mood | tired]
[music |Hips Don't Lie - Shakira]

Whew! First day of track & field and already I feel like dying. I'm so out of shape. :P
I've been toying with the idea of getting another subscription to Newtype-USA, but it's so damn expensive! Then again, it's even more expensive than just going to the bookstore almost every month and getting a copy, which is what I've been doing ever since my previous subscription ended... Anime is draining me dry. (T.T) I'm so poor right now. I've even been thinking of selling some of my old, unwanted DVD's (Kodocha, Soul Hunter, Kiddy Grade, Galaxy Railways, Full Metal Panic!, Burst Angel) just so I can feed my Wolf's Rain and R.O.D: The TV addiction.
Current wishlist:
Wolf's Rain limited edition box set
R.O.D: The TV volumes 1, 3 - 6, 7 w/ art box

A multifarious neighborhood [Apr. 1st, 2006|08:05 pm]
[mood | busy]
[music |Last Dinosaur - the pillows]

I went to Chinatown today with my family and we ate lunch at this Vietnamese restaurant. Mmmm... Delicious. Afterward, we shopped around and I got a new copy of Genki, which is a monthly Chinese/Japanese manga anthology. I also got the chance to restock my depleted supply of Pocky. ^^
We got back home at around 6 and I found out that a friend had called to invite me over to play Kingdom Hearts 2 at around noon. >.< Sry, Jen.

Subtlety is not his forte [Mar. 31st, 2006|09:11 am]
[mood | cheerful]
[music |Angel de la Noche - David Bisbal]

I just went to go see V for Vendetta with Kayly today! It's really good and I totally recommend it!
V for Vendetta takes place in a not-so-distant future, where Great Britain is ruled by a totalitarian regime strikingly similar to Hitler and the Nazis. The head honcho (forgot his name) controls people through the media and... other stuff. <- SPOILER!!! ... He also unleashes a biological weapon on the civilians and takes advantage of the chaos to gain control of the government ... END SPOILER!!! So, of course, along comes a hero masked as a terrorist, who calls himself... *insert dramatic fanfare* V. Now, V's not your ordinary hero. He’s a frilly-apron-wearing, Shakespeare-quoting terrorist who bombs government buildings with fireworks set to classical music. Nifty, no?
Great movie and there’s a little something for everyone... bloody battles for the action fanatics, lots of mystery for the suspense lovers, and even a scene where there are two girls kissing each other for the fanboys (or fangirls).

Blood Transfusion [Mar. 28th, 2006|06:42 pm]
[mood | tired]
[music |Mizerable - GACKT]

I borrowed my friend's copy of Newtype-USA. (She's a subscriber.) The April issue includes features on Eureka Seven, Gundam SEED Destiny, Samurai 7, Loveless, and *heart* BLOOD . I so want to see that show! I think it's already licensed by Sony Pictures, but I'm not sure.
BLOOD is a series about a teenage girl, Saya, who seems to live an ordinary life with her parents in Okinawa, but on the inside, she is a lethal warrior just waiting to be released. Her bloodthirsty instincts are awakened when she is attacked by a chiropteran (think demon). Saya soon receives unwanted attention from the Red Shield and now, not only is Saya hunted by these monsters, but she is also being pursued by a sinister organization dedicated to the eradication of the chiropterans. Sucks to be her. Fortunately, Saya receives help in the form of Hagi, a mysterious man whose true intentions are unknown.

You may proceed [Mar. 27th, 2006|07:22 pm]
[mood | cheerful]
[music |Ready Steady Go! - L'Arc~en~Ciel]

Wow. I haven't updated this in a year! This must be one of the most neglected livejournals. >.<
Anyway, not much has happened in the span of a year, which is kind of sad. I still live in the same town, I still pretty much have the same friends, and all that's really changed is that I'm now a year older, and just maybe a tiniest bit more mature, which is still immature by normal standards. XP But I'd like to think that I'm making some progress.
...
I'm really excited though, because the game Kingdom Hearts 2 is coming out this week! I'm not too sure which day, but I can't wait to play it! Unfortunately, I have 5 different exams this entire week so I'm going to be pretty busy studying, but I'll be making a trip to Best Buy over the weekend. I might also make a trip to Borders to pick up a copy of Death Note volume 4 and the April edition of Newtype-USA.

Death! Death to the World! [Mar. 8th, 2005|08:33 pm]
[mood | pissed off]
[music |Don't Let Me Get Me - Pink]

Okay, I'm just warning you that I'm in a super bad mood today. Technology, especially computers, hate me and I'm sick and tired of everything. I have a sore throat, a friggin' headache, a stuffy nose, and there's a stupid science midterm tomorrow that wants to do me in. XP Rawr. Feel my wrath.

Sleepover Extravaganza [Feb. 23rd, 2005|01:46 pm]
[mood | cheerful]
[music |Almost There, Going Nowhere - The Starting Line]

I just came back from a sleepover party at a friend's house, which was mad fun. We watched some chick flicks, like The Saint and Dirty Dancing, while munching on some junk food. I think I probably gained 10 pounds. We also played Egyptian War (brutal!) and I taught my friends how to play STUPID, which is such an awesome card game! (Learned it from a couple of New Yorkers on a 20 hour flight across the world. Really saved my life.)

Hitting the Slopes [Feb. 20th, 2005|10:57 am]
[mood | ditzy]
[music |IOIO - S.H.E.]

Whoot! Today I went skiing with my parents and a couple of friends! It was wildly fun and I never fell down, not even once! How awesome is that?! Later on, the car got a flat tire, but a nice police officer were able to help us fix it. Mr. Officer, you rock my toe-socks! ... I think I'm sugar-high.

A Nice Break Away From the World [Feb. 19th, 2005|09:35 pm]
[mood | satisfied]
[music |SUPER DRIVE - Yosuke Sakanoue]

I spent the entire day today at the mall and at the bookstore. Mmm... Very relaxing. My parents bought me these adorable toe-socks! (They have little insects, butterflies, ladybugs, bumblebees, and the like, for each toe.) I got myself the first volume of Tokyo Mew Mew and the classic The Art of War. Tokyo Mew Mew is a delightful manga and anime series. (The show's on every Saturday morning on 4KidsTV, but I don't recommend watching it. The dubs are horrible.) It's a series about the life of a magical girl who has combined genes with a cat. It's really sweet and if you like Sailor Moon and similar shoujo titles, then I recommend that you read it. The Art of War by Sun Tzu is also a great book. It mainly gives you advice and tactics to use against your enemies. Pretty cool and it might come in handy someday... Better watch out, Awroo!

Life As We Know It [Feb. 16th, 2005|05:34 pm]
[mood | worried]
[music |你 的 微 笑 - F.I.R.]

Um... Today's my parent's 20th wedding aniversary, so they left me home while they go snow-shoeing in the mountains. Fine by me. I have a math test tomorrow so I need to study my theorems and stuff. Math has always been my weakest subject and this year it's preventing me from getting all A's. Grrr.

Someone Needs a Hug [Feb. 14th, 2005|11:49 am]
[mood | tired]
[music |Where is the Love? - Black Eyed Peas]

Okay, today's Valentine's Day. So I get up in the morning all happy and blissful, get ready for school, and walk into my math classroom all chipper and innocent of any wrongdoing... and then my teacher goes berserk on me, or more precisely, the whole class. *sticks out tongue* A beautiful start for a horrible day.
*sighs* Now I need to go finish my math homework for tonight.

D0 J00 SP34K L33T? [Feb. 13th, 2005|10:56 am]
[mood | content]
[music |Double Trouble - Harry Potter]

Two awesome things happened to me today. One, I discovered Megatokyo (an online comic/manga doujinshi) and two, I got the third Harry Potter as an early Valentine's Day present. As the 3vil Lord of D00M would say, "Excellent..." *taps fingers together and cackles wickedly* (http://www.eviloverlord.com/ <- LOL! I'm such a dork.) I noticed that the case design for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is different from the former cases, which I heartily approve. Even though the older ones were very sleek looking, they weren't very practical since it was kind of difficult to remove the discs without damaging the case.
